Hebrew College Accreditation Status

At its meeting on April 16 and 17, 2009, the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) acted to place Hebrew College on probation.

Through the show cause process at the April 2009 meeting, the Commission found that, as a result of progress and plans made by the College, the institution has shown cause to retain its accreditation. However, Hebrew College was placed on probation because it does not currently meet the Commission’s standard on Financial Resources, one of eleven Standards for Accreditation. In placing Hebrew College on probation, the Commission has determined that its failure to meet one of the Commission’s standards represents a condition that can be remedied by the institution within two years.

Hebrew College remains accredited during the period of probation.
