The Conservation, Preservation and Digitization of the Dead Sea Scrolls
Monday, May 13, 2013
Join us for a riveting lecture by Pnina Shor, the head and curator of the project to conserve, preserve and digitize the Dead Sea Scrolls, which will be exhibited in the Museum of Science in May.
Shor will discuss her work with the Israel Antiquities Authority and elaborate on her involvement in digitizing the scroll images together with Google. The launch of the Leon Levy Dead Sea Scrolls Digital Library comes some 11 years after the completion of the publication of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and 65 years after the first scrolls were unearthed in the Caves of Qumran.
This event is free and open to the public. To RSVP and for more information, please contact Tzilla Barone at 617-559-8812 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please RSVP by May 9.
