Weizmann Institute to Honor Theodore H. Teplow

Former Hebrew College Board Chair Theodore H. Teplow will receive a Doctor of Philosophy degree honoris causa from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel. Currently Assistant Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science and a member of the Weizmann Institute International Board of Governors, Teplow will be honored on November 11, during the Institute's 54th Annual General Meeting.

Theodore H. TeplowA nephew of the late Dewey D. Stone of Brockton, Mass., who served as Founding Chair of the Weizmann Institute and its American Committee, Teplow has supported the Weizmann Institute of Science with his wife, Charlotte, for over 30 years. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during the Korean War and is a Commander (Retired) of the U.S. Naval Reserve. After receiving his MBA from Harvard Business School, Teplow had a successful business career with Crosby Valve, Inc., retiring as CEO and President in 1982, though he continued as a consultant until 2001.

A 1999 recipient of Hebrew College's honorary doctoral degree, Teplow has been a lifelong supporter of Hebrew College and currently chairs the College's Investment Committee. Active in many Boston-area organizations, he has been involved with the Combined Jewish Philanthropies, International Catacombs Society and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Foundation.
