Howard Tzvi Adelman, Visiting Associate Professor of Jewish History, will be the Director of the Program in Jewish Studies at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Previously he has served as the Director of the Program in Jewish Studies at Smith College and taught in Israel, including at the Rothberg School of Hebrew University, as well as in Australia and Germany. His field of research and publication is early-modern Italian Jewry, especially gender and the family, about which he has a forthcoming book. He holds a PhD from Brandeis as well as degrees from Cornell and JTS.

Edward Breuer, Edward Breuer, Visiting Associate Professor of Jewish History, is also a visiting professor in Jewish history at the Hebrew University and a lecturer in Jewish studies at Hebrew University's Rothberg International School. His research focuses mainly on the Jewish Enlightenment and the nineteenth-century religious movements. He earned his bachelor's from Concordia University and a master's and doctorate from Harvard University. Edward Breuer

Reuven Cohn, Adjunct Instructor in Rabbinics, received his rabbinic ordination from Yeshiva University and earned a law degree from Yale Law School. He has taught numerous adult education classes at Hebrew College and in the Boston area, and is currently on the Talmud faculty at Maimonides High School in Brookline, Mass. Reuven Cohn

Nathan Ehrlich, Dean of Hebrew College Online, is a chief architect of the College's Online MAJS and has consulted throughout the United States on distance learning and information technology. He received his bachelor's from Empire State College and master's from Lesley University. Nathan Ehrlich

Lewis Glinert, Visiting Professor of Hebrew Literature, is Professor of Linguistics and Hebrew Studies at Dartmouth College and serves on the faculty of Me'ah at Hebrew College. A graduate of Magdalen College, Oxford, Glinert chaired the Centre for Jewish Studies at London University. He has written widely on Jewish culture, and his credits include two BBC documentaries. Among his books are The Grammar of Modern Hebrew (Cambridge University Press), Hebrew in Ashkenazic and The Joys of Hebrew (both Oxford University Press). Glinert is a member of Bar-Ilan University's Hasidic Literature Project.

Mark Leuchter, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Bible, teaches and researches biblical literature and ancient Israelite religion. In addition to these areas of interest, he also teaches courses in comparative religion, and religion and cinema. He earned his bachelor's from the University of Michigan and his master's and doctorate from the University of Toronto. Mark Leuchter

Michal Levy, Instructor in Hebrew Language and Ulpan, joined the Hebrew College faculty in 2003. She has taught Hebrew in the College's Ulpan program for the past 15 years. Levy received her BA from Tel Aviv University and her MA in Literacy, Language and Multicultural Studies from Boston University. Michal Levy

Barry Mesch is Provost and Stone/Teplow Families' Professor of Jewish Thought and lead adviser to the College's MAJS students. Specializing in the history of Jewish philosophy and medieval biblical exegesis, he received his BS from Columbia University, his BRE from the Jewish Theological Seminary and his PhD from Brandeis. Jacob Meskin is Assistant Professor of Jewish Education at Hebrew College and a Me'ah instructor. He has taught previously at Princeton University, Williams College and Rutgers University. His articles have appeared in Modern Judaism, The Journal of Religion, Soundings, Judaism, Cross Currents and in several edited volumes. He is currently completing a manuscript on the relationship between philosophy and Jewish tradition in the work of Emmanuel Levinas. He received his PhD from Princeton University. Barry Mesch

Susie Rodenstein has held numerous positions in Jewish education. She has been a Director of Education at a large synagogue school, a curriculum consultant to day schools, and the Director of Israel Programs at the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Boston. Formerly a Jerusalem Fellow, spending several years in advanced Jewish educational studies in Israel, she is currently on the faculty of both the Shoolman Graduate School of Education and the Early Childhood Institute at Hebrew College. Peretz Rodman, Visiting Lecturer in Hebrew Language and Literature, is an educator, writer and translator. An ordained rabbi and a member of the first group of Jerusalem Fellows, he was a teacher and administrator at a Jewish day school in the U.S. and has taught at universities and seminaries, Jewish and Christian, in the U.S. and in Israel. He teaches at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Rothberg International School and contributes frequently to The Forward, MyJewishLearning.com, and other publications and websites. He received his BA and MA from Brandeis University, his BHL from Hebrew College and rabbinic ordination from the Schechter Rabbinical Seminary of Jerusalem.

Peretz Rodman
Solomon Schimmel, Professor of Jewish Education and Psychology, was a Fulbright Senior Research Scholar and Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University in 1998 and has lectured throughout the world. He received his BA from the City College of New York and an MA and PhD from Wayne State University. Solomon Schimmel

Ilene Vogelstein is currently the Director of Special Projects for the Early Childhood Department at the Coalition for the Advancement in Jewish Education and a consultant for the Jewish Early Childhood Education Initiative (JECEI). She holds an MA in Speech Pathology from Loyola College, an MA in Organizational Development from Johns Hopkins University and a Graduate Certificate in Jewish Education from Baltimore Hebrew University. Alan Zaitchik, Director of Hebrew College Online and Visiting Associate Professor of Jewish Thought, was a senior lecturer at Israel's Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he taught Jewish philosophy, particularly on the nature of religious language as reconstructed by Maimonides. He has published widely in the areas of ethics and political philosophy. He also has 18 years' experience in designing computer software, with a specialty in learning systems delivered over the Internet. He holds a BA from Yeshiva University and a PhD in Philosophy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Alan Zaitchik
