Directions to Hebrew College




By Car

From points south: From I-95 (also known as Route 128), take exit 20A (Route 9) east toward Boston. Proceed 2.1 miles on Route 9 to the Newton Centre/West Roxbury/Parker Street right-hand exit. Turn left (north) onto Parker Street at the top of the exit ramp and proceed for .6 mile. Turn right onto Braeland Avenue. Then take the first right onto Herrick Road and go up almost to the top of the hill, bearing left at the Hebrew College sign at the entrance to the campus. From the Hebrew College entrance driveway on Herrick Road, bear right into the parking lot (there is a small sign to direct you). The Library entrance is on the left, about halfway into the lot.

From the city of Boston: Take Rte. 9 west through Brookline and past the Mall at Chestnut Hill. Stay in the right lane and approximately two blocks past the Mall take the right fork onto Langley Road just before the light. Proceed approximately ¾ mile and look for Braeland Avenue on your left. Turn left onto Braeland and at the end, turn left onto Herrick Road and go up almost to the top of the hill, bearing left at the Hebrew College sign at the entrance to the campus. From the Hebrew College entrance driveway on Herrick Road, bear right into the parking lot (there is a small sign to direct you). The Library entrance is on the left, about halfway into the lot.

From I-95 (also known as Route 128) North: Take exit 21A. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right and go over the Rt 128/95 bridge overpass. Stay in the right lane and take the right fork at the first light onto Beacon Street. Continue on Beacon Street for 3 miles to Newton Centre. Cross Centre Street at the traffic light and bear right onto Union Street. Then take the first right onto Herrick Road and go up almost to the top of the hill, bearing left at the Hebrew College sign at entrance to the campus. From the Hebrew College entrance driveway on Herrick Road, bear right into the parking lot (there is a small sign to direct you). The Library entrance is on the left, about halfway into the lot.

From I-93 North or South: Take I-93 to the Massachusetts Turnpike heading west. Take Exit 17 in Newton Corner. Stay in the center lane on the exit ramp and at the light turn left onto Washington Street. Go straight past the Sheraton Tara, keeping it on your left. Just past the Sheraton, take the left fork onto a bridge going over the Massachusetts Turnpike and around to the back side of the Sheraton. Immediately merge into the right lane and turn right onto Centre Street at the first stop light. Proceed 1.8 miles on Centre Street, through the Commonwealth Avenue intersection to the Newton Centre business district. Turn left at the light onto Beacon Street. Go one block to the next light and turn right onto Langley Road. Take your second right onto Braeland Avenue and at the stop sign turn left onto Herrick Road and go up almost to the top of the hill, bearing left at the Hebrew College sign at the entrance to the campus. From points west: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike heading East. Take Exit 17 (Newton/Watertown). Stay in the right lane and turn right onto Centre Street. Proceed 1.8 miles on Centre Street, through the Commonwealth Avenue intersection, to the Newton Centre business district. Turn left at the light onto Beacon Street. Go one block to the next light and turn right onto Langley Road. Take your second right onto Braeland Avenue and at the stop sign turn left onto Herrick Road and go up almost to the top of the hill, bearing left at the Hebrew College sign at the entrance to the campus. From the Hebrew College entrance driveway on Herrick Road, bear right into the parking lot (there is a small sign to direct you). The Library entrance is on the left, about halfway into the lot.

From Logan Airport: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike heading west. Take Exit 17 in Newton Corner. Stay in the center lane of the exit ramp and at the light cross through the intersection and onto Washington Street. The Sheraton Tara Hotel will be on your left. Just past the Sheraton, take the left fork onto a bridge over the Massachusetts Turnpike and around to the back side of the Sheraton. Immediately merge into the right lane and turn right onto Centre Street at the first stop light. Proceed 1.8 miles on Centre Street, through the Commonwealth Avenue intersection, to the Newton Centre business district. Turn left at the light onto Beacon Street. By Rapid Transit

From the MBTA Trolley: Take the Green Line, Riverside Branch (D Train), to Newton Centre. As you get off an outbound car, take the path that continues in the outbound direction to Herrick Road, turn left onto Herrick and walk up the hill to the campus—a 10–15 minute walk. There is also a taxi stand at the T stop. From the Hebrew College entrance driveway on Herrick Road, bear right into the parking lot (there is a small sign to direct you). The Library entrance is on the left, about halfway into the lot.
