With classroom space and parking at a premium during peak hours and with a shortage of offices, Hebrew College has already outgrown the first phase of campus construction and is planning Phase Two. Initial discussions on April 1 set the process in motion; among those attending were architect Moshe Safdie, Building Committee members and Chair Joseph S. Michaelson, Columbia Construction President Bruce Gordon and President Gordis. It will be at least two years before fundraising and construction are completed; plans call for a second academic building, an auditorium, a second level of parking and student housing. For now, the College is exploring various off-campus space options as an interim solution. A word to the wiseif you're coming to a popular class or lecture, arrive early to get a good parking space.
