SO LONG, SUMMER

It was another energy-charged summer at Camp Yavneh, with 500 campers playing, competing, studying, swimming, dancing, creating, growing, making lifelong friendships and generally having a blast during the course of two sessions. Season highlights included the annual July 4th parade, a visit from songwriter and ethnic folklorist Laura Wetzler, Zimriyah song fest (dominated in a grand sweep by Ma'alot), Kerem's production in Hebrew and English of Beauty and the Beast, the undefeated varsity girl's volleyball team, Rikkudiah, KTV singing and dancing, fun field trips and Maccabiah. Twenty teens spent an outstanding summer in Israel on Na'aleh 2003, returning to camp just in time to share the end-of-year social. For those who can't wait until next summer, Yavneh's annual reunion takes place on November 30 at Hebrew College. Be sure to visit www.campyavneh.org, for the latest news on the reunion and camp registration for 2004–2005.
