QuickTime "Negotiating" Problem

QuickTime is one of the programs you need to use the Live Classroom environment and others. It is installed during the last step of the Live Classroom wizard. If you get to that step and you see a page similar to this:
Live Classroom QuickTime Setup
—but there’s a gray bar saying "negotiating" for quite some time followed by a “Page Not Found” error, follow the instructions below to resolve the issue.

  1. Open QuickTime. The icon will be on your desktop or in the taskbar: QuickTime
  2. Go to Edit > Preferences > QuickTime Preferences.
    QuickTime Menus
  3. Click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Click on the dropdown beside Transport Setup and choose Custom...
  5. Change the Transport Protocol to HTTP and set the Port ID to 80, as in the  example below:
    QuickTime Port
  6. Click OK and close out of QuickTime.
  7. Rerun the wizard (http://hebrewcollege.horizonlive.com) and the QuickTime test should pass.

QuickTime should now run properly. If not, Apple also has a comprehensive online help page, which will help you to use QuickTime. www.apple.com/support
