Disabling Pop-up Blockers

Please choose the pop-up blocker you have installed from the list below:

Browsers Toolbars Firewalls

  AOL Toolbar  

If you're having trouble finding the pop-up blockers on your computer, the following tips may be helpful.

  1. Many Internet browsers have built-in pop-up blockers.
  2. Check additional toolbars installed on Internet Explorer:
    1. Click on View > Toolbars.
    2. Look for browser add-ons (Google, Yahoo, etc.).
    3. Make sure the add-ons have checkmarks next to them.
    4. Locate the toolbars in the browser window and turn off any pop-up blockers they contain.
  3. Check the system tray (at the bottom right of the screen) for any programs that may have pop-up blockers and disable them.
  4. Pop-up blockers may be packaged with Internet security software such as Norton Security and ZoneAlarm.
  5. It is possible to have multiple pop-up blockers installed.

Internet Explorer (on Windows XP Service Pack 2)

  1. Click on Tools.
  2. Choose Pop-up Blocker and click on Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.

Netscape/Mozilla

  1. Open the Preferences menu (in the Edit menu on a Windows PC; in the Netscape/Mozilla menu on a Mac).
  2. Open the Privacy and Security menu.
  3. Select Pop Up Windows and uncheck Block unrequested pop ups.

Firefox

  1. Go to Tools > Options.
  2. Click on Web Features.
  3. Uncheck the box for Block Popup Windows.

Safari

  1. Open the Safari menu and choose Preferences.
  2. Open the Security menu.
  3. Uncheck Block pop up windows.

Guard IE /GuardWall

  1. Go to Start > Programs > Guardwall.
  2. In the Pop-ups tab uncheck "automatically block pop-ups when opening new browser windows".

You can also access it from the IE toolbar or from the System Tray:

  1. Click on Guardwall.
  2. Check "always allow pop-ups/scripts from this website."

Google Toolbar

  1. Click on the Google icon (shown below) and select Options.
  2. In the Accessories section, uncheck Popup Blocker.

Yahoo Toolbar

  1. Click on the pop-up icon (shown below).
  2. Uncheck Enable Pop-Up Blocker.

MSN Toolbar

  1. Click on the MSN icon and select MSN Search Toolbar Options.
  2. Below Toolbar on the left side, click on Pop-up Blocker.
  3. Uncheck the box labeled Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.

AOL Toolbar

  1. Click on the AOL icon to the left of the search box.
  2. Select Turn Off Popup Blocker.

Norton Internet Security

  1. Double-click on the Norton icon (shown below) in the system tray.
  2. Click Ad Blocking.
  3. Click Turn Off.

McAfee Security Center

  1. Open McAfee Security Center > Privacy Service.
  2. Choose Options from the categories on the left side.
  3. Click on the Block Ads tab.
  4. Uncheck both boxes.

Zone Alarm Pro/Zone Alarm Security Suite

  1. Open Zone Alarm.
  2. Select Privacy > Main.
  3. In the Ad Blocking area options should be there to turn it off.

Remember to reverse the process when done if you want pop-ups blocked for other sites.
