Fees for 2012-2013

Registration fee: $100 per semester (required of all students in every program; fee is nonrefundable).

Music fee: $200 per semester (required of all students matriculated in the School of Jewish Music)

Health Insurance: $1,610 per year

Massachusetts requires all full-time and part-time students to participate in their school’s health insurance program if they do not have health insurance on their own. All students will be charged this fee automatically. Fee will be reversed upon receipt of Insurance Waiver Form (proof of health insurance under another plan).

Cost of Attendance

In addition to tuition and fees, students should plan for the normal costs of living, including room and board, transportation and personal expenses. An estimate of those costs is shown below:

Room and board: $20,000

Books: $1,000

Transportation: $1,000

Personal expenses: $2,000

Health Insurance: $1,610

Total: $25,610 (this figure is only an estimate)

Adding this figure to your tuition and fees will give you an approximate cost of attendance per academic year. Students attending classes during summer sessions will have additional costs — both in cost of attendance and tuition and fees.

For example, a full-time student in the rabbinic program will incur the following cost of attendance:

Tuition: $24,000

Registration fees: $200

Room and Board: $20,000

Books: $1,000

Transportation: $1,000

Personal expenses: $2,000

Health insurance: $1,610

Total: $49,810 cost of attendance per year

This figure may be conservative if you have more personal expenses, live in a more expensive apartment or home, etc.

ADDITIONAL FEES (for matriculated students, 2012-2013)

Graduation Fees
All graduating students are required to pay a graduation fee regardless of whether or not they attend graduation.* Fee will be collected in early spring of graduation year.

Ordination and degree: $200

Ordination only: $175

*Students in certain programs may have this fee covered by the program sponsor. They will be charged the fee, but the sponsor will pay it rather than the student. These programs currently include BBYO, Pardes and NETA.
